LOU O' BEDLAM: Big Question of the Week

As it’s the 20th anniversary of Photoshop, I’m wondering:

Is photography better off for its creation?

I know it’s made a lot of things more convenient, easier, faster. But has it actually fostered creativity? Moved the medium forward?

I ask sincerely, not as a way of denigrating the program,…

…..also…as a photog who is also a painter…it gets rid of what I always felt to be a mechanical separation between me and the image in the darkroom.  I can treat the photos in a more painterly way.  As oppose to waving my hands, or tools to dodge and burn.  Also I’m inpatient, and it allows me to manage my time better

also..you cant make a “shitty photo grand” in photoshop…the image must be good when its taken
